Counseling Related Questions

How often do sessions take place?

I see clients on a weekly basis until they’ve reached their goals and have built the skills needed to manage their symptoms on their own.  Clients who participate in therapy consistently and more frequently see better outcomes and even though some people will see results in just a few sessions, sticking with therapy for at least 3 months will help you sustain change for the long-term.  We will tailor therapy to your needs and my practice is to check-in throughout the process to make sure we are moving in the direction that feels right for you.

What are your counseling rates?

$200 for an individual session (45-60 minutes)

$235 for a family session (60-75 minutes)

Do you take insurance?

I accept Aetna, Cigna, Optum, Oscar, and UBH for counseling sessions.  Even if your insurance carrier isn’t listed here, you can still be reimbursed if your plan has out-of-network coverage. If interested, we will provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance for direct reimbursement after each session.  Mediation services are not covered by insurance.

What’s your counseling cancellation policy?

We require 24 hours’ notice for cancellation. If you are doing in-person sessions and are unable to come into the office, you have the option of switching to a virtual session so as not to lose momentum.

If you or your child start to feel sick more than 24 hours before our appointment, let us know and we’re happy to take you off the schedule and find a better time to meet! It’s a lot easier for us to fit in another client who needs to meet when you give us enough advanced notice.

If your therapist is sick or cancels, you won’t be expected to pay for that missed session.

Mediation Related Questions

What is the mediation process like?

The mediation process allows both parties to share their experiences in a confidential space with a neutral mediator to help guide the conversation. In a mediation, the parties have control over how the process proceeds and have a unique opportunity to resolve their dispute on their own terms, either without court involvement or as a way of preventing further action in court. The mediator will listen to both parties and will help them move toward possible resolution of their dispute. A final verbal or written agreement will drawn up only when both parties have discussed possible solutions and have arrived at terms to which they both can agree.

What is your mediation rate?

$325 for a mediation session  (90-120 minutes)

People seek out career coaches for various reasons, depending on their individual needs and goals. Here are some common objectives people have when working with a career coach:

  • Career Transition: Many individuals seek career coaching when they're contemplating a career change or transitioning to a new industry or role. A career coach can help assess skills, interests, and values, and provide guidance on potential career paths.

  • Job Search Strategies: Job seekers often turn to career coaches for assistance with resume writing, cover letter writing, interview preparation, and job search strategies. Coaches can offer insights into effective job search techniques, networking, and leveraging online platforms.

How often should I connect with my career coach?

How often you meet with a career coach depends on several factors, including your goals, timeline, budget, and the intensity of support you think you’ll need. Here are some guidelines to consider:

  • Initial Phase: Initially, you might meet more frequently, such as weekly or bi-weekly, especially if you're going through a career transition, actively job searching, or facing significant challenges. Frequent meetings can help establish rapport, clarify goals, and create a plan of action.

  • Ongoing Support: Once you've made progress and feel more confident in your direction, you may opt for less frequent meetings, such as once a month or every few months, to review your progress, address new challenges, and fine-tune your strategies.

  • As-Needed Basis: Some individuals prefer to schedule meetings with their career coach on an as-needed basis, reaching out whenever they encounter specific issues or need guidance. This approach offers flexibility and allows you to tailor the support to your changing needs.

  • Programs or Packages: We also offer programs and packages that include a set number of sessions over a defined period. In this case, the frequency of meetings is predetermined based on the structure of the program.

  • Budget Considerations: Your budget may also influence the frequency of meetings. If meeting more frequently stretches your budget too thin, you might opt for less frequent sessions while still maintaining progress toward your goals.

Ultimately, the ideal frequency of meetings with a career coach varies from person to person. It's essential to discuss your preferences, goals, and expectations with your coach to determine a schedule that works best for you. Additionally, stay flexible and open to adjusting the frequency of meetings as needed based on your evolving needs and circumstances.
